I will make a separate post about it going in detail on the inspiration & stuff I shamelessly ripped off, but here's a quick view on the model I finished basically scratch-sculpted save for few bits!
Really happy with how it turned out, especially the crafty "shelf" modeled like Forgeworld Tyranid flesh-links that both acts as a support for the membrane, ensures an additional point of stability when glued later AND it lets me paint it in sub-assemblies which will be much needed! And it looks pretty good & true to the inteded effect I am aping, once glued I am sure it will be barely noticeable.
Really hoping to finish painting it to submit for Nidvember! Gonna be really racing, already laying down some basecoats & stuff.
