Not much to say about this one! Just some smoke effects made from randomly bent paperclip wires with plastic/glass beads of various size on them, then smoothed out between each other with milliput+fine magic sculpt mix.

Sculpting wings! Basically from scratch! Pain!
The title honestly explains it all.
What I did was carefully cut out & sand desired shape for the membrane. The somewhat tricky part is to cut it to confirm in shape to the limb of your choice (forearms for Tyranid Warrior boneswords in this case).
Then you attach a L-shaped pin facing the limb and attach it to the limb, preferably with gel superglue to secure more time for posing. The presence of an L-shaped pin kind of bulks up the wing which can be alleviated with greenstuff work, I mean it will be kind of needed either way I think to add segmented wingbones bones. And below is a little doodle of a biological jet engine that I shall put on top!
To mask the connection points alongside the membrane & the wing arm I have added details like those found on ForgeWorld shrike models, kind of fleshy connective tissues. Always admired those details.
But if you're not feeling that in particular, I'm sure just gently smoothing it out with some greenstuff would help.
Overall the result is more or less a success I'd say, but for the future I almost feel like sculpting limbs on top of the membrane might be an easier way of doing things, depending on the size of the creature.

Most Podels Again: Tyranid Psyker-Beast Conversion!
It's me again! This is also a completed creature, but I will get to posting current early WIPs for the upcoming Nidvember soon.
This fella is - on technicality a kitbash since the forearms are from hormagaunts, but the rest is just zoanthrope kit & scratch-sculpting.

Most Podels
I guess there is no better way to introduce myself than to post some stuff I already painted!
I don't have too much, really I sorta been getting back into this whole thing for like, a year at most after multiple sluggish and mixed bag attempts at starting. All thanks to a lovely, lovely friend of mine who also keeps me motivated and we like, bounce ideas off each other, she's awesome!
Anyways, here is a model I painted for another friend. It's a zombie beholder model from uh, WizKids I think?
Anyway, had an idea to paint it like Frenzied Flame from the game Elden Ring. Kind of works considering D&D aberrants take root in Lovecraft-y stuff and both have eye motifs. Frenzied Flame is pretty cool tho, pretty imaginative as far as supernatural diseases go.
It kind of worked! I also kind of hated the process and I think it might have radicalized me against any usage of ember effects in the future! Because I actually painted the thing with craft store paints that I got as a gift and for some reason they had some sort of hydrophobic finish. Was actually super miserable and got me so confused that I thought WizKids haven't primed their stuff right.

Hello world! :D
His name is Patrick, he & his twin sister Patricia are familiars of this blog that I will try to maintain more or less diligently. I am mostly gonna keep this blog as a little diary log of my miniature sculpting & painting endeavours, but I might sometimes rant about other TTRPG stuff.
Kind of like a slush pile.
I like 40k (particularly tyranids, which probably will occupy a decent chunk of this design space!) and D&D 3,5 but I admire some of the OSR stuff, I think GLOG is pretty cool (check out Goblin Punch!) but I am unsure if I will ever get enough people on board to play it. Same goes for Lancer, BFG, Ultraviolet Grasslands, older 40k editions, Magnagothica: Maleghast and like a gorillion of other niche things, but you never know!
We're all gonna make it! I can do anything!
