Most Podels Again: Tyranid Psyker-Beast Conversion!

It's me again! This is also a completed creature, but I will get to posting current early WIPs for the upcoming Nidvember soon.

This fella is - on technicality a kitbash since the forearms are from hormagaunts, but the rest is just zoanthrope kit & scratch-sculpting.

And that does include the itty bitty hands! Those were surprisingly not hard to make, just some donuts shaped layed out, let it cure, and then smoothen out details after.

This is the WIP pic of mostly finished symbiote. Design is vaguely based off H.R. Giger's early concept of facehuggers. The thing looks frail, but the tips of its legs boring into the cranium is the actual pinning point! Same goes for tail! And then the body was just sculpted on top. So it's actually kind of sturdy, for the most part.

Lastly, the wavy things on the tail you can see at the start of the post were inspired by mantles you can sometimes witness on cephalopods like squid or cuttlefish.

Pretty satisfied with the results! I think I might try & convert harder one of the more regular models by adding some bits on top with a dash of brush-on primer, since I feel hesitant to strip the whole thing.

Most Podels

I guess there is no better way to introduce myself than to post some stuff I already painted!

I don't have too much, really I sorta been getting back into this whole thing for like, a year at most after multiple sluggish and mixed bag attempts at starting.  All thanks to a lovely, lovely friend of mine who also keeps me motivated and we like, bounce ideas off each other, she's awesome!

Anyways, here is a model I painted for another friend. It's a zombie beholder model from uh, WizKids I think?

Anyway, had an idea to paint it like Frenzied Flame from the game Elden Ring. Kind of works considering D&D aberrants take root in Lovecraft-y stuff and both have eye motifs. Frenzied Flame is pretty cool tho, pretty imaginative as far as supernatural diseases go.

It kind of worked! I also kind of hated the process and I think it might have radicalized me against any usage of ember effects in the future! Because I actually painted the thing with craft store paints that I got as a gift and for some reason they had some sort of hydrophobic finish. Was actually super miserable and got me so confused that I thought WizKids haven't primed their stuff right.

Hello world! :D

His name is Patrick, he & his twin sister Patricia are familiars of this blog that I will try to maintain more or less diligently. I am mostly gonna keep this blog as a little diary log of my miniature sculpting & painting endeavours, but I might sometimes rant about other TTRPG stuff.

Kind of like a slush pile.

I like 40k (particularly tyranids, which probably will occupy a decent chunk of this design space!) and D&D 3,5 but I admire some of the OSR stuff, I think GLOG is pretty cool (check out Goblin Punch!) but I am unsure if I will ever get enough people on board to play it. Same goes for Lancer, BFG, Ultraviolet Grasslands, older 40k editions, Magnagothica: Maleghast and like a gorillion of other niche things, but you never know!

We're all gonna make it! I can do anything!
